La Joya Independent School District Announces Lone Finalist for Superintendent of Schools: Heriberto D. Gonzalez

La Joya TX,— The La Joya Independent School District Board of Trustees is proud to announce that Heriberto D. Gonzalez has been named the lone finalist for the position of Superintendent of Schools. This decision was reached during tonightโ€™s Special Called Board Meeting.

As mandated by Texas law, the district's Board of Trustees is required to observe a 21-day waiting period after identifying a lone finalist before formalizing a contract offer. During this time, Mr. Gonzalez will be given the opportunity to continue engaging with the community and familiarize himself further with the district's goals and aspirations.

Alejandro โ€œAlex Cantu La Joya ISD Board President, expressed his enthusiasm for the selection, saying, "Mr. Gonzalez brings a wealth of experience and innovative leadership to the table. We are confident that his passion for education and commitment to excellence align seamlessly with our district's mission." 

Heriberto D. Gonzalez  who has been serving as the district's Interim Superintendent of Schools, will continue to oversee day-to-day operations, ensuring the continuity of progress while the transition unfolds.

The La Joya Independent School District is thrilled to welcome Mr. Gonzalez as the Lone Finalist Superintendent, leading the district's growth trajectory. With over 24,500 students, 4,100 employees, and 39 campuses, the district is poised for continued success in nurturing academic excellence and community engagement.

Upon learning of his selection as the lone finalist, Mr. Gonzalez shared his sentiments, saying, "I am deeply honored and humbled by this opportunity to serve the students and community of the La Joya ISD as Superintendent of Schools. I extend my heartfelt gratitude to the Board of Trustees for entrusting me with this responsibility.
