La Joya ISD’s Festival de Colores Brings Community Together in Joyful Celebration of Culture, Creativity, and Connection

La Joya, TX  - An explosion of color and community spirit filled La Joya ISD’s PACK Stadium on Friday, May 15, as families, students, staff, and community members gathered for the district’s highly anticipated Festival de Colores - a vibrant celebration that highlighted the heart, culture, and unity of the La Joya ISD community.

From energetic performances to joyful reunions among families and friends, Festival de Colores transformed the stadium into a lively hub of entertainment and celebration, featuring student performances, fine arts showcases, games, food vendors, face painting, interactive activities, and colorful moments shared among attendees.

“Festival de Colores was a celebration of the incredible sense of community that makes La Joya ISD so special,” said Anna Marie Candelario, Deputy Chief of Academics and School Leadership. “Seeing our students shine, our families connect, and our community come together in such a joyful and welcoming environment truly reflects the spirit of our district. These moments strengthen relationships, build pride, and remind us of the importance of creating spaces where every student and family feels seen, valued, and celebrated.”

The festival honored the rich diversity represented across La Joya ISD and created opportunities for connection beyond the classroom setting - a reflection of the goals outlined in Achieving Excellence Together: 2030, particularly Priority 4: Community Trust, Unity & Partnership. 

Festival de Colores served as a vibrant reminder of the power of community, culture, and connection within La Joya ISD. Through shared experiences, joyful celebration, and meaningful family engagement, the event highlighted the district’s ongoing commitment to building a stronger community where every student and family feels welcomed, valued, and connected.
