We are excited to begin “The Great Kindness Challenge” next week! Camarena admistration, teachers, and staff will be encouraging all students to perform as many acts of kindness as possible. It is with hope that we want to instill in our students a lifelong commitment to service and kindness. We are looking forward to the many activities that we have planned for our students, and witnessing the joy and excitment students will feel while creating an environment full of love, respect, and compassion.
The Great Kindness Challenge was created by Kids for Peace to provide schools a tool for creating a positive school environment. In 2017, 10,493,866 students participated and performed over half a billion acts of kindness nationwide.
La Joya ISD encourages community members and businesses to come together and participate in The Great Kindness Challenge, January 22-26, 2018. The Great Kindness Challenge is a positive, proactive bullying prevention initiative, reaching millions of students during the last full week of January every year.
